Celebrating 100 Years of Service
Industrial Supply Company, the region’s largest privately owned maintenance, repair and operational and production (MROP) distributor is celebrating its 100 year anniversary this year. The company has a year-long series of events planned to mark the occasion and thank its customers in the mining, construction, aerospace, energy, utilities and manufacturing industries.
Industrial Supply will kick off the celebration with its annual event, Toolapalooza, on June 22 at its Salt Lake City location. Other plans include a campaign celebrating 100 years of worker safety during the month of June, and community service projects for the Utah Food Bank, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and other charitable organizations throughout the year.
Industrial Supply Company was established in 1916 when Rudolph Orlob founded the Mountain States Rubber Company to provide products to the mining industry. He later expanded into tools, metals and fasteners to become a leader in the industry with 7 locations and 170 employees serving customers in Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and Idaho.
“Our company has grown up with this region, and we are proud to be part of its history.” said Philip M. Thompson, Rudy Orlob’s grandson and Industrial Supply Company’s Chairman of the Board. He credits his grandfather’s high standard of customer service for the company’s staying power.
“My grandfather was legendary for his customer service skills. He understood that if you treat your customers right, they will follow you anywhere. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and always will be. That’s one thing that will never change.”
